I’ve never been interested in playing the game the way everyone else does.
I’m not wired to follow the herd.
Wall Street waits for consensus. Most people buy high, sell low, and never ask why.
But I’ve always questioned everything — and that’s how I’ve built the life I have.

I started this newsletter because I believe the greatest returns — in investing and in life — come from seeing what others miss, and having the conviction to act before the rest of the world catches up.
If I ever wanted to retire my wife, own my time, and give my family the life I dreamed of, I knew I had two paths:
Build and sell a business — or get really good at investing.
I chose both.
I spent the last decade helping grow ArdentX into an 8-figure logistics company. Now, I run Black Sheep Capital — where we’re backing early-stage startups, overlooked public companies, and asymmetric opportunities across both private and public markets.
Building a business taught me about risk.
Investing taught me about patience, conviction, and timing.
Over time, I started seeing the same patterns repeat — in the markets, in startups, in behavior. I made early, outsized bets not because I had a playbook — but because I did the work, trusted my gut, and moved early.
That’s how I got into:
$HIMS at $7
$TSLA at $160
SOFI at $5
$META at $150
Bitcoin at $9,000
And recently, $LMND and $OSCR — well before the crowd caught on
This newsletter is where I share what I’m seeing — and how I’m acting on it.
You’ll get:
High-conviction stock and startup ideas I’m actually putting money behind
The frameworks I use to find asymmetric upside
Raw insight — not filtered, not delayed
And sometimes, I’ll write about life in general — being a dad of three, trying to stay grounded, and navigating this season of my early thirties with intention.
No fluff. No recycled market takes.
Just real thoughts, in real time, from someone actually playing the game.
Because for me, this isn’t content.
It’s a way to think out loud, sharpen conviction, and bring others along for the ride.
Welcome to Alpha Before It Prints.
Let’s chase what matters — before everyone else wakes up to it.
Stay sharp,
Connor
