Every week there’s a new headline.
“AI kills X.”
“LLMs replace Y.”
“This entire industry is dead.”
Most of it is lazy thinking.
AI compresses cognition.
It does not pour concrete.
It does not dispatch trucks.
It does not fix HVAC units in July.
And it does not automatically eliminate the companies that own the workflow around those things.
That’s why we’re launching something new inside Alpha Before It Prints.
Introducing: ANCHOR Tuesday
Every Tuesday, we’re running an ANCHOR Check on a company that’s supposedly exposed to AI disruption.
Not a hype take.
Not a doom take.
A structural one.
We’re going to ask:
Does AI actually threaten the core business model?
Or is it just automating around the edges?
Who owns the system when the phone rings?
Who owns the data?
Who owns the workflow?
Because there’s a difference between:
“AI improves this industry”
And
“AI deletes this industry”
Markets are terrible at distinguishing the two.
That’s where edge lives.
What ANCHOR Means
ANCHOR is not “old economy.”
ANCHOR means the business controls a system that’s difficult to displace — whether that system is:
Physical infrastructure
Or embedded operational workflow
Each week we’ll score companies across:
Asset-Embedded
Non-Discretionary Demand
Capital Intensity
Hard to Replace
Obsolescence Resistance
Real-World Demand
Then we’ll label the AI impact:
Tailwind
Neutral
Or Headwind
If it passes the structural gates, it earns the ABIP ANCHOR Certification.
If it doesn’t, we say why.
No bending the system to fit a favorite stock.
Why This Matters Now
AI discourse is binary.
Either:
“Everything is about to 10x”
Or“Everything is about to zero”
Reality is messier.
AI is an accelerant.
It’s not a wrecking ball.
The companies that survive and compound will be the ones that:
Control systems
Own workflows
Move atoms
Or sit at the center of real operational infrastructure
Those are harder to kill than headlines suggest.
Starting Next Tuesday
Every Tuesday.
One company.
One structural check.
Less hype.
More discipline.
If the market is overreacting, we’ll say it.
If the threat is real, we’ll say that too.
Because the goal isn’t to be anti-AI.
The goal is to understand where AI actually stops mattering.
Welcome to ANCHOR Tuesday.
